All i've seen so far is Atulfo Mangoes from Mexico, which pale in
comparison. :\

You might try phoning Onkar, though they can't seem to even keep
Bedekar's Mango Pickles in stock, so my guess is that Alphonsos are
hopeless. I'm going to look on Gerrard Street on the weekend. --PR

I work in the area, and will pop in and chat with the staff regarding
availability. If they are able to give me a good idea, I will post
back here with the results.
Picked up two cases ($24 each, for 12 medium-sized mangoes) on Gerrard
Street this weekend. I haven't had fresh Alphonsos in over thirty
years. I recognized the taste from past visits to India. I wouldn't
say that these were, so far, better than the Ataulfos from New City;
they're different, more buttery and perfumed. These may not be at
their best yet, or the best of what one can buy, so I wouldn't regard
my judgement as anything more than one data point. --PR
