KVM is hoping to organise a Traditional Food Festival and Seminar on the Agro-ecological crisis in Punjab:
Millets and Food Heritage on 25th October 2009 in collaboration with Press Club , Chandigarh. This will be a full day event at Press Club Chandigarh . A meeting of KVM Chandigarh is proposed for 26th September 2009 , Saturday at 2.30 PM at Aashiana Public School, Sector - 46 A , Chandigarh

Coordinator of Women Action for Ecology - KVM Ms Gagandeep Kaur , will be there to attend the meeting . After consultation with few of KVM activists at Chandigarh the proposed agenda is as following:
Points for consideration and discussion
1 ) Food stalls from the women's group (Trinjan) who has been attempting to revive the millet food and cultural context in Punjab along with Kheti Virasat Mission. These food stalls will serve millet based traditional foods from Andhra Pradesh, Uttrakhand and Punjab.
2) Open exhibition on millets – Seeds and biodiversity
3) Half day discussion/seminar on Millets: Food security, health and agricultural sustainability
4) Evening public lecture on millets and Film show

Accommodation: We are expecting 50 people as participants – mainly women from Punjab, Andhra Pradesh and Uttrakhand in this festival so we need to arrange accommodation for 24th and 25th October night in Chandigarh.
Apart from this another 10-12 resource persons and guests will also be there.
