Dear members of the KVIN Committee,

I am writing to express my feelings about the fact that there are
still no social activities for members. You have been running for a
couple of years, but it seems that you are still where you were when
you first started.

When activities don’t happen, rather than taking any responsibility
for not providing the activities, you pass responsibility around like
it is a parcel. As you are volunteers, you should be making more of an
effort instead of over-exaggerating the impact work has on your lives.
I know plenty of social workers and people in the legal profession,
who give up their free time to volunteer for organisations. They don’t
just do it because it’s something they can put on their CV or so they
can get complements from others, they do it because they care.

You complain that the Dewsbury and Batley Society for the Blind
doesn’t include Huddersfield, and that there isn’t anything for
visually impaired people in Huddersfield, but you don’t pull your
finger out to provide anything for visually impaired people in
Huddersfield. When other members do try to help visually impaired
people in Huddersfield, they are threatened with disciplinary action
and their ideas are criticised.

Over all, I am disappointed that KVIN isn’t an organisation that is
run professionally. All the other organisations I volunteer for are
run properly by mature people who aren’t in it for themselves.

A lot of people in Huddersfield aren’t aware of KVIN so you need to
look at your development strategy. It is not my job to promote KVIN,
as I am not on the committee.

Kind Regards,
Zoe
