GUI doesn't show the OSD preview

My KV OSD GUI doesn't show the preview OSD. Is there a trick? I just installed it. I have tried loading the fonts.

Have the same issue but did not worry about it.

I am running OSX 10.8.5 also tested on windows 7, what is your OS?

win7 64bit. I also received AVRDUDE sync errors whenever I tried to upload new sketches to the board from arduino. I found recommendations to try rebooting minimosd right before flashing, but that seems to have fried it completely. It used to just fail to upload, and to continue to show the stock FW/OSD which was ARDUCAM.  But I want to use  KV OSD on mine, due to my multiwii FC. If anyone has a minimOSD already flashed with KV OSD, willing to sell please message me so we can work out a way for me to just buy it. Of all the aspects of setting up my FPV quad, I really thought setting up minimOSD with KV would be the easiest. I mean really, soldering the tiny points on my turnigy 9x and flashing that was easier than this. but I blame the quality of the minimosd board i got from amazon.

These units are nasty cheap. Have you tried to upload using the ISP header to ensure AVR is still functional?

To be honest is really simple to get this going, I would suggest to just grab another unit. If you want a high quality unit then go the original 3DR robotics version or a cheapy from HK.
