As per latest circular no. 14(87)/2016 dt 25/11/16 issued by Ministry of Labour & Employment all big employers shall make payments of wages to contract or permanent employees through bank account only. Cash payments is not allowed. This rule is applicable with immediate effect without any monetary limit.

I have a different view as the cirular say that you motivate to open more account and the respective officer has to report that how many additional accounts are opened. There is no restriction for payment of salary in cash.

I feel it is for labour payments or for labour intensive industry.
It is not applicable for office staff payments
