Hi guys!

Risto, just tested your kustomizer-script and I think its very cool.
Because you just have to run it, and afterwards everything is done.
You save a lot of time with that.
So I joined your mailinglist to get the newest news :-)

The good news for sortdesk in kustomizer is, that I added an option to
turn off that global desktop icon, called "global view on/off".
If you switch it off, all files are in the /usr/share/applications/
and the subfolders arent used anymore. So apps, which change their
icons like meooem can be in a category and don't have to be global.
Another option is to turn on/off the Active-as-first.view. Means, that
if its off, all categories have only brackets ((Name)), instead of >
for the inactivated. That should be also good for meooem, because >
comes after numbers.

The bad news for the kustomizer script is, that you have to add the
directories/categories by yourselve, because if you "sortdesk add" a
category you will be asked which icon and if you want to move
.desktop-files. Its no longer automatic like in sortdesk 1.2.

OR

You install sortdesk 1.2 and do it. like you did, and afterwards
upgrade to 1.7.

Afterwards(to make it all automatic) you have to set gview and aaf in
/home/root/.sortdesk/sortdesk.cfg to 0. You can use "sed" to do this
easily.

Another question to you ist: I've seen, that you made an iconset for
sortdesk. Can I add it to the .ipk-file?

Last thing to say, would be, sortdesk became slow on SHR. But its not
because of using bash. Is it the xserver which needs more time to
reload?
On OM2008.12 it's "fast as hell" :-D.
Probably it could be the kernel, too. Do anybody of you, know how to
improve that?

Great, glad you liked it!
The latest 'stable' version has some issues with the automatci screen
rotate. It's removed in the devel version, I think..

subject Icons for Sortdesk

Anyone interested in implementing the new sortdesk things in
Kustomizer? The easy solution is to just install the version 1.2 (and
lock it with opkg - can this be done?) but if someone wants, please
work on the devel version to implement this.

I'd like to hear your comments on 2009, if kustomizer is still needed
there and if, in what form, what should it do? Maybe a new thread
about that..

I think that the speed changing the icon categories is a bit too slow.
I think in the first sortdesk version it was a lot faster but I have
no idea what caused that (now it takes about 1-2s to change).
