What apps would you like to be added/removed from Kustomizer, keeping
in eye that:
- one can easily add apps, if he knows where to get them
* beginners from opkg.org
* advanced users from anywhere, even with customscript that's run in the end
- Kustomizer is partly about showing the capabilities of FR
- Kustomizer can also show some highlights of the apps
If you suggest something please also tell me WHY this should be added/removed.
My suggestion:
- add a cardgame, either http://www.opkg.org/package_157.html
(PyHeart) or http://www.opkg.org/package_156.html (PySoIFC)
PyHearts is only one game, the other zillion games. I'd maybe go for PyHeart.
- get rid of gpsdcontrol (-> one less global icon required and the
'Services' tool replaces this - but it's slow)
(mostly just frustrated with broken installations :/
(btw. I just changed centerim, openttd and numpty from opkg.org to
point to projects.openmoko.org packages.. I'd think now they actually
get installed.. cool apps!)

Hi there!

Mr. Orrery - great to see you here :)
I wouldn't have anything against better icons. The sortdesk icons are
already changed from the defaults, someone provided the files and now
we download a package from
http://kurppa.fi/freerunner/config_files/sortdesk_icons.tar.gz
So if someone sends me the line to replace the default icons I'm happy
to add it!
Mr. Orrery - great to see you here :)
Hmm.. When I trhied, I wasn't able to make ffalarm to alarm at all but
I left it there as it's a nice finger-friendly app.. Can be concidered
to remove, what do you others think?

You mean the auto-rotation based on the accelerometer input? Could
someone have a look how does it actually work, what needs to be
changed so that it wouldn't automatically start (when starting the
phone?).. It's interesting if returning from suspend turns it on
again, too..

Yep, I changed it to install from projects.openmoko.org so I'd think
it should now install with no problems. It's a cool game :)

Interesting, I never heard about it before. Yep, having to edit the
playlist manually is not that cool though 'wlan' installed now
requires the same for secured networks but for open I guess it works
ok..
Media player is an issue, we're using Pythm hacked version. The
seeking doesn't work too well and it takes the player some minutes to
go to the next track after the previous finishes so I'm open to new
suggestions. Should try the latest pythm if it works better using
gstreamer.

I left it there as it's a nice finger-friendly app.. Can be concidered

It starts again after resuming from suspend, because there is a file
89omnewrotate-resume in /etc/apm/resume.d directory. If you delete
this file or comment out the line "exec /usr/bin/omnewrotate $OPTIONS
&" in this line then it won't start after resuming. And there's also
file /etc/apm/suspend.d/11omnewrotate-suspend that kills omnewrotate
when going to suspend.

I would like to see in kusomizer something like this:
http://www.stud.fit.vutbr.cz/~xmlich02/openmoko/selectTimezone.sh
(even better would be time zone selection according to gms/gps
information, maybe it could be offered by fso)
BTW i have updated the tangogps package at opkg.org:
- i have posted it in there, so it is possible to just update it from
opkg.org repository
- the problem with crashing of application while editing repo is not
cleanly solved but, everything seems to be working and it is not my
code, so i am not very opened to explore and debug it.
- i have updated also the information about source codes (posted link on
my SVN repository) and added link to launchpad bug tracking system. I am
not going to develop new features for tangogps, but i can offer myself
for debugging..

About http://www.stud.fit.vutbr.cz/~xmlich02/openmoko/selectTimezone.sh
- should I copy the code in Kustomizer (what's the licence..?) or
download & run it? It looks useful to me.
I am not sure how works turning on and turning off of omnewrotate. But
The think is, that i want it turned off as a default. And the easiest
way how to do this is to remove it at all.

I think this is already enough for a 4.x release - but let me know if
there's anything else you'd like to add/remove.
I myself am not that interested in the whole Openmoko business,
depressed with the bad news coming from Openmoko about people leaving
and no distro works smooth so please, contribute code, not just ideas.
Added it now. I think the 'volume' or 'pymixer' or whatever's
installed can do the same but not automatically.
I try to install it from opkg.org so will have to test if it works.
I also added a new promising wifi tool:
http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/KnjMokoWifi and the corresponding
repository to install the framework it requires.
