to Kurt's TNT Winter Ride 2008
So, yesterday was another amazing day for cycling. The weather was
perfect!!!! It was not too hot and not too cold.
The ride yesterday was a variation of several rides we've done in the
past. We combined those in to a 68 mile ride. The total climbing was
about 5700 feet, so a little less than the previous week, but it sure
felt about the same. Today I feel as sore or more so.
All of the hard work is beginning to pay off as we close in on the
home stretch. The sports psychologist I spoke about in my earlier
post said all of this hard work is really "money in the bank". He
means training is helping build strength, endurance, etc - it's why we
train. So, I think the deposit was significant yesterday. The ride
started from Dublin, and we road along 680, and back over the backside
of Canyon to Moraga, then over to the Three Bears area, then Pig Farm
Hill road (a killer), the we circled back around to Pleasant Hill and
Reliz Valley Road (by this time, I was worn out!) and then finally
down the hill past Rossmore and down Danville/San Ramon Valley Blvd
back to Dublin. This ride is also called the 12 cities ride.
Next weekend is the Salmon Run ride which is supposed to be an
absolute killer. I can hardly wait.
And good people, I've almost reached my minimum! The deadline is
close. So, if you want to donate, now is the time. Thanks to my
sponsors too!!!! :)
