to Kurt's TNT Winter Ride 2008
Today was definitely not as nice as yesterday. Nonetheless, it was a
planned Danville ride. My friend the wind made life a little more
interesting too. He wanted me to work for the effort to Danville. I
had nice head winds on the way there. I always ride to the Starbuck's
in the middle of town, take a short break, then head back. Today was
the same. I took a shorter break though, because I was squeezing this
in the middle of the day and had a meeting I couldn't miss. The round
trip from my home to the Danville starbuck's is about 23.5 miles.
The rain was light and drizzly, but this weather does have it's
benefits. Mostly its a long the lines of getting the roads mostly to
myself. No pedestrians or other cyclists to worry about. Nice!
I had a really nice tail wind on the way home! I made it home really
fast - in like 50 minutes including signals and traffic (not much
during this time of day).
I will be taking it easy tomorrow. The ride on Saturday is going to
be a goody. The team has already been advised by the coach to do an
easy workout in preparation for Saturday's ride.
Huge thanks to my friends in the Netherlands - Gert and Debbie
Beukema. They joined Kurt's platinum club today. Thanks guys! I am
now 17% of the way to my goal of $3000.
