Running:

sudo service kurento-media-server stop after running the start and then checking the listening posrts (netstat -tulpn) shows that server is still listening on 8888,
is this a bug or wrong execution by my behalf?

Also seeing that service is still running after running:
service --status-all

I dunno, but the server should have stopped. HAve you checked with ps -aux | grep kurento? Sometimes those connections take some time to close, and if you do it right away, they might be still locked.

It didn't stop even after waiting some time, it's also present when running the ps you suggested, could be environment issue and I also have a workaround, so 10x.

Ok, if you find this in a different environment, please let us know just in case something is not working well! It would be nice to know what's happening, in any case ;-)

Version 5.0.4 had this problem sometimes. If you do a kill -9 it will stop.
