changing gstreamer filter parameters on the fly, e.g. update volume or mute attribute of the gst volume filter

Is there a way to change the attributes/parameters of a GST filter on the fly? E.g. I'm trying to use the volume command for a GStreamerFilter and I want to be able to read as well as update the volume on the fly.

If this is not possible, is there a way to swap a filter with another instance without causing any "break" in the stream? (say a break in the sound?)

Have you tested to change one GStreamerFilter with another? It should work out of the box without issues.

That's the workaround, Micael. That, however, causes a short stop in the stream while the filter is exchanged. The ideal would be to update the filter parameters on the fly via API. That'd be a cool feature to have.

Yes... that'd be a cool feature.

If you want you can implement it and make a PR.
