Hi everyone

fist, thank you for this amazing project. I created an interface to an onvif camera (using the player endpoint) and made very good progress.
The only thing which is problematic is now sending audio from the browser to the camera.

The most recent version of gst-rtsp-server includes this functionality (it is not compatible with 16.04's libgestreamer-1.8.3).
My question is whether I can mix the different gstreamer versions (1.0 vs. 1.5 in kurento, right?) or whether this is a futile attempt.

Best
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

I don't know if it is possible to mix GStreamer versions... but it sound risky at best ;)

We have in the roadmap to update the GStreamer version used in KMS, but there is no fixed date for that.

Best regards

The gst-rtsp-server seems to build with gstreamer-1.5 but it requires a newer version than in 16.04.
Which problems should I expect when either backporting a newer version or build on 18.04?

And thanks for the anwer ;)

Will do. I think an onvif-compatible player would be useful for many applications

Can you share with us the progress connecting an ONVIF camera to KMS?

Have you done something special or ONVIF can be accessed using a RTSP interface?

Hi Micael

I had no troubles connecting ONVIF cameras via the RTSP interface (obtaining the address and controlling the camera like PTZ etc. is done by a different library).
The only thing missing is sending audio back to the camera. Using a newer version of gstreamer-1.5 should do the trick however. Then, I should be able to create a new Player class for it.

I noticed that gstreamer1.5 is provided by ubuntu.kureto.org. Do you have any information on how I can build/upgrade the packages by myself?

Best
Stefan
