Hello,

I've setup Kurento and its demos "fi-lab-demo" & "kmf-content-demo" on Ubuntu.
I am interested particularly in Kurento's SIP capabilities, my guess is that I should be able to modify the exemple "kmf-content-demo/webrtc/videochat.html" so someone could join the room using SIP while others are using WebRTC.
Is Kurento able to act as a SIP Proxy ?
How do you activate and test SIP on Kurento ?

Thank you for any help,

Seb

Please note that I have done the default install of KMS and KAS as described here : http://www.kurento.org/docs/current/Installation_Guide.html

Other people in the community managed to creating Kurento demos using SIP servlets and the Jain SIP stack. SIP aspects are orthogonal to Kurento. You can use the SIP application server you want (Mobicents, WebLogic, or other) and consume the Kurento Media API for controlling media capabilities.

Is Kurento able to act as a SIP Proxy ?

No, Kurento capabilities are mainly on the media plane. We use third party signaling capabilities.

How do you activate and test SIP on Kurento ?

Again, you should use Kurento as a media server. You can use SIP or other signaling mechanism by connecting Kurento with an application server.

Thank you for any help,

Seb

Hello Lulop, and thank you for having answered to my question.

Can you please point out a Kurento demo that uses SIP Servlets and the Jain SIP Stack ?

We don't have any, but post the question int he Kurento public mailing list. I know that some people are integrating Kurento into an IMS system using the Mobicents SIP Servlet implementation. Perhaps they may want to share the code with you. In addition to this, if you are in a hurry with this, we offer professional services for customized developments and consulting. We could create a SIP example of Kurento easily and at a very reasonable price. If this is an option for you just let me know and I can provide you detailed information.

Best.

Luis.

I am testing open source WebRTC options but require SIP signaling. Has there been any update on this? I am interested in a SIP gateway Kurento <--> Kamailio.

Thanks

@Wyatt : You should have a look at Asterisk, which will handle SIP signaling as well as WebRTC, Audio and Video.

My requirement at the moment is to test with KMS. Nice writeup for Asterisk though.
