London Kurdish Film Festival (LKFF) - Image Competition

The 6th London Kurdish Film Festival (LKFF) invites artist to
participate in an image competition for the festival poster and
program booklet. The competition is open to all and the winner will be
invited to the festival at the expense of the organizers.


Theme

The London Kurdish Film festival is an annual festival organized in
London showcasing films made by Kurdish directors and films on the
Kurds by non-Kurdish directors. LKFF shows feature, documentary, short
and animated films. We are looking for an image reflecting Kurdish
culture, symbols in Kurdish culture, cinema, the 6th anniversary of
the festival, and London as a capital city and the location of the
festival. This is the first image competition; the Kurdish Film
Festival has previously commissioned Kurdish artists to create images
for us. You can see previous images from the festival on our website
at www.lkff.co.uk


Deadline

The closing date for entries is 31st Agust 2009.


Use of Winning image

1. The winning entry will be the image used for the festival poster,
which will be printed in A2 size in full color; over 2.000 copies will
be displayed across venues where the festival is held.

2. The winning entry will be the image used for the LKFF program
booklet which will be printed in A5 size in full color; more than
20.000 copies will be distributed all around London.

3. The winning entry will be the main image on display on our website
and will be available as a downloadable poster


Selection Criteria

1- Submissions should be sent in eligible formats (JPEG/TIFF/GIF/BMP)

2- Should be submitted with signed terms and Conditions form (see
below)

3- Very good technical quality (resolution, color balance, clearance)

4- Short synopsis of the idea or message (not more than half a page)

5- Thematic and Cultural Relevance


We look forward to a stunning range of images that will showcase the
great culture of the Kurds and represent our festival in its sixth
year!


Image Competition Terms and Conditions

1. Each entrant may submit a maximum of 3 images in digital formats
listed above

2. Each image must be accompanied by a short synopsis

3. By entering the competition, the entrant represents, acknowledges
and warrants that the submitted image or art work is an original work
created solely by the entrant and that no other party has any right,
title, claim or interest in the image.

4. By entering the competition the entrant grants permission to the
London Kurdish Film Festival (LKFF) to use the image to create printed
material to be used without any limitation for the festival material
such as poster, festival booklet, banner, visual and printed
advertisement materials, newspapers, website etc.. The entrant will be
credited correctly where possible.

5. All entrants authorize the LKFF to use their image, name and
personal details in all type of media and promotional material for
publicizing the result of the competition.

6. The competition is open to the general public.
