Uhuru Kenyatta has been elected to a second presidential term in Kenya. Uhuru
will be handed his elections winning certificate today by Kenya's
Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) at the Bomas of
Kenya in Nairobi. In the just completed 2017 Kenya Presidential
Elections Uhuru garnered about 8.2 million votes (53.86%). Uhuru beat
his opposition rival, Raila Odinga, who garnered about 6.8 million votes
(44.54%) out of a total of about 15 million votes cast in the
Presidential Elections.
Kenya's 2017 General Elections are being hailed
across the world for being well conducted, transparent, peaceful and
credible - a performance that many countries ought to emulate.
