We are very happy to know what you guys are pretty interested in our small effort for the development of a Nepali operating system ie Chitwanix. I'm Volunteer from Kathmandu University Open Source Community and want to extend relationship with Chitwanix Community to initiate Chitwanix Trainig and Testing Hub.

Following are the objectives behind our proposal:

1. Supporting Chitwanix by installing new updates released by Chitwanix OS and providing feedbacks.
   
2. Learning the Development of Chitwanix OS and contributing anyway we can in promotion and development of a NEPALI OPEN SOURCE OPERATING SYSTEM.

We are happy to learn about the interest of KUOSC regarding Chitwanix development and testing to achieve its goal and vision of default operating system of Nepal.

KUOSC has freedom to start contribution in development and testing by forming a team of interested volunteer or enthusiast in chitwanix. They need to follow the development timeline path (Github) and come to open discuss in IRC of chitwanix.

 

There are some guidelines in IRC like

- Discussion are open in any topic of Chitwanix

- You don't have to be expert to contribute but

  Your eagerness to learn, test, develop and share is the key value for contribution

- Maintainer decision and choice will be the last

- Before asking anything don't hesitate to read manuals

- If you are sure you want to contribute, commit and perform it - else don't join or take part.

- Choose the part where you feel comfortable according to your skills rather than picking subject to show off.

- Develop video log or documentation how you did it and share others.

- Chitwanix currently does not provide any kind of training regarding OS customization and development.

b. Graphic and Art Design (Icons, wall papers, color combinations, themes)

c. Web App Development

d. Application Development

e. Documentation and Manual development

g. Trainer / Training Course Developer / Mentor

h. Maintainer / Developer / Tester

I. Chitwanix Community Formation (School / College / City / Districts / Province)

Institution as Training Center

Any institution can start Chitwanix training of its own by registering themselves as an vocational educational institute from the government body.

 

Those institute who want to have their students recognize with the official Training Certificate of Chitwanix should sign MOU with Chitwanix and follow the course guideline developed by Chitwanix. Student will be registered with chitwanix. MOU will be per year renewal. Fees are applicable as donations for to keep chitwanix activity alive.

 

Student can choose below Training and Certification. Certification will give value to the students according to their skill level and counted as Chitwanix workforce around globe.

 

Chitwanix Training and Certification
Currently we are working on 3 type of certification

a. Chitwanix Installation Assistant

b. Chitwanix Office Assistant (Valid for 2 Years)

c. Chitwanix Technical Assistant (Valid for 2 Years)

d. (Upcomming) Chitwanix Professional (x) [(LTSP) (Migration)(System Developer)(Maintainer)(....)] (Valid for 2 Years)

Institution as Testing Center

Testing Center means the center where certification test are organized. A MOU should be signed between Chitwanix and interested institution. Institution should be official training center in the first place. Official testing center should have all required standard resource as per Chitwanix guideline. MOU will be per year renewal. Fees are applicable as donations for to keep chitwanix activity alive.
