Thecaster was able to summon any undead within 100 yards (91 meters) in any direction, including above and below. Summoned undead outside of visual range of the caster were not able to automatically locate the caster.[1][2]
The spell was effective through all non-magical barriers. It could not penetrate magical barriers, nor be used from one plane to another. The spell could be used to bring back any previously turned undead.[1][2]
"Undead are the result of Blood Magic, where one person is sacrificed in order to grant another eternal life. The undead we encounter are, for the most part, the remnants of the Empyrean kingdom of Dericost. Long ago, the noble families of the Dericost Kingdom learned necromancy from the Falatacot people. For thousands of years, undead nobles of Dericost ruled the kingdom in secret, through living intermediaries. Eventually the Dericostian nobles, collectively called the Old Lords, were divided into two warring factions: the Latzimestal ("Lords of the World " in the language of the Falatacot) and the Filinuvekta ("Winds From Darkness "). The Latzimestal declared that ruling in secret was cowardly and hypocritical. The undead had power; let them rule openly. So saying, they seized the realm from the Filinuvekta, and launched an aggressive campaign of military expansion. They were ultimately defeated by a coalition lead by the Kingdom of Haebrous, under King Jailne, and the Empire of Yalain, under Empress Alaidain.
Seriously the humans in this game are generally awful people. Look at what happened to that guy in stormsong. He bargained with the horde to ensure the well being of his family and got called out as a monster by that very same family after asking to be turned because he was dying and wanted to ensure said safety.
Oh and also the forsaken were initially coded as actual undead, meaning paladins could smite them to the heavens (hilariously OP in pvp btw). I would put money on them adjusting the PC characters to non undead classifications and then Blizzard just never got around to adjusting the actual tooltip of the race
Very true and I addressed that in the post I made below that. The humans of Stormwind never gave themselves an official name to label themselves as being different then humans from the seven kingdoms. They are all humans who simply come from different kingdoms.
Face off against more Zombies than ever before with new weapons, classic power-ups, and exciting surprises. Danger lurks around every corner in Call of Duty's largest Zombie map to date. How far will you venture into the chaos?
Zombies comes to Modern Warfare with specialized missions, cinematics, and Easter eggs that add to the lore of the Dark Aether Narrative. Progress through hours of Missions while unlocking the secrets of Urzikstan and the Dark Aether dimension.
The highly enriched Aetherium unleashed by Zakhaev has had unprecedented effects on the AO, impacting both the living and the dead. Horrific monstrosities and more zombie variety than ever before await you in the Exclusion Zone.

At 6th level, you add the animate dead spell to your spellbook if it is not there already. When you cast animate dead, you can target one additional corpse or pile of bones, creating another zombie or skeleton, as appropriate.
Looking further, I found several other necromancy spells which result in new undead, and none of them have "create" or similar in their descriptions either, and I would assume the class feature would simply say Animate Dead if that's the only spell that it works with, which would mean Summon Undead is probably fine too... But (at least on D&D Beyond) most of the other spells which make undead are tagged as "Creation" spells, which makes sense for them to be considered as "creating undead" for the class feature, whereas Summon Undead is tagged as Summoning instead, which also makes sense given the name. I'm pretty sure D&D Beyond tags aren't actually rules, but I can see the logic that "Summoning" spells are taking a creature that already exists on another plane and moving it to the material plane, whereas "Creation" spells do something different and thus qualify as "creating" something.
So, personally I would rule that Summon Undead triggers Undead Thrall, but I can see other interpretations and I wonder whether there's a more official way to determine the meaning of "create an undead".
This spell creates an undead servant. Choose a pile of bones or a corpse of a Medium or Small humanoid within range. Your spell imbues the target with a foul mimicry of life, raising it as an undead creature.
We'll be able to enjoy two new round-based Zombies maps, Terminus and Liberty Falls, as well as a "continuation of the intriguing and terrifying Dark Aether narrative that was started in Black Ops Cold War," according to a Call of Duty blog post. I always enjoyed the cosmic horror take on Zombies that an alternate dimension supplies, so it'll be cool to see it make a return after Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's open-world Zombies.
In addition to the two new maps, Treyarch also says that there will be "new and returning power-ups, a pantheon of revolting entities to face, and a host of secrets and easter eggs to discover." Zombies will also have all the new movement features and visual and audio upgrades that were mentioned during the showcase. This will hopefully make getting around much easier as players will be able to move "much more realistically." Treyarch also hints at new "additional Zombies-specific features" but says that more information on this will be coming in the following weeks.
My favourite CoD Zombies has always been Black Ops 2, with iconic maps like Bus Depot, Mob of the Dead, and Origins, but that's probably just because it was the first CoD Zombies game I actually played with any kind of sentience.
While the open-world Zombies in Modern Warfare 3 wasn't awful, with some cool enemies like the returning Mimic, I didn't think it was worth the price tag, and I couldn't help but miss the rounds. I love relentlessly trying to tackle the hordes of the undead with my friends, each time aiming for a higher round as most of us stick close by as one outlier runs off, claiming he can kill every single one by himself only for him to die on the opposite side of the map.
So, despite all the headaches I've had from my friends screaming to be revived, I'm actually quite excited to see what Treyarch is going to do with this next CoD Zombies, especially now I know we're going back to a round-based format

Thanks all. I found the skeletal summoner after I made this post but i totally forgot about khain's army. Now I will have to ask is there a zombie summoner feat, can one use skeletal summoner to summon zombies, or will we have to wait for it? Second as far as I know there weren't any monsters on the summon undead list that counted as non-opened content just the spells themselves, anyone know of any to the contrary?
Nacht der Untoten (German: "Night of the Undead") is the first map of the Zombies Storyline. It is also the smallest and simplest, as there are only three rooms in this map. The Zombies in this map are less deadly than the ones in other maps, as they do not reach through windows and they're the least smart in terms of AI. The Zombies also look more human in this map and they just groan and moan. This was the only map to not include Perk-a-Colas until the September 27, 2011 update that provided every map with Mule Kick, however, this only applies to Call of Duty: Black Ops. Because it is a last minute developer addition, this map simply acts as an introduction to the Nazi Zombies Game Mode and does not advance the Zombie Story Arc; it's more along the lines of an isolated incident for four unnamed soldiers. It takes various design elements from a bunker in the multiplayer map Airfield, the bunker in the map therefore earning the name "Zombie House." However, it has nothing to do with that map story-wise. The version in Call of Duty: Black Ops features the original power-ups, including the Carpenter power-up (which is first introduced in Der Riese) including the power-up icons, instead of the text and the remaining time at the bottom. Cold War weapons are available in the Mystery Box, zombies can now reach through the windows to hit the players, and a new musical easter egg called "Undone" can be found.
Verrckt (German: "Crazy/Insane") is the second map in the Zombies campaign. It is based off the multiplayer map Asylum, as they share many traits. The zombies in it are much more dangerous because they can attack through windows and can sprint. This is also the first map to include traps, Perk-a-Colas, and Bouncing Betties, as well as the first map to require the power to be turned on. There are 10 rooms in this map, which require no points to open. This is the first map where the Mystery Box can be teleported and reappear somewhere else. This map takes place in Wittenau Sanatorium in Berlin, Germany. There is a German and American side, each with the faction's respective weapons. When playing with three or four players, they will be split up, and have to reunite at the generator room, unless two people activate the power, and you go through the doors that need power to open. This map also introduces the PPSh-41, available from the Mystery Box (In the Call of Duty: Black Ops version of this map, a new Wonder Weapon, the Winter's Howl, is introduced).
