Purpose of our English corner

作为一个致力于青少年赋能教育，旨在释放青少年特殊的智力和道德潜能，使其成为自身发展和社区福祉的积极推动者的机构。我们自己也在学习如何成为自身发
展和社区福祉的积极推动者。
英语角是我们为此而做的一种努力，希望通过组织定期的，围绕精神主题的讨论，促进更多朋友的发展，促进朋友们之间的友谊与团结的氛围，同时激发朋友们学
习与服务的热忱。
As an organization dedicated to junior youth empowerment education,
whose aim is to release intellectual and moral potential in junior
youths and to help them become active members of the community who
take responsibility both for their own development and the development
of their community, we ourselves are also learning the same thing we
want to help junior youth to achieve--to become active members of the
community that take responsibility both for our own development and
for the development of our community.
This English corner is one of the results of this effort. Through this
regular event, we hope to contribute to the development of our
friends, to foster friendship and unity, and, most importantly, to
fuel the passion for study and service to others.

Recently I have been feeling that everyone has a need to express,
consciously or unconsciously, one way or another.
Expression helps us to understand and be understood. It helps us to
grow as individual, and more importantly, grow as society.
What has been your experience with expression? Do you feel it’s
important to you? What are your ways of expression? What are the
things you express? Why?

Thank you for your e-mail. We haven't met for a long time. Recently I'm working so hard on my job that I couldn't spend much more time on English learning, which means I would miss your fantastic English Corner several times. I'm very sorry about that. Everything we can see and feel is a form of expression of something
bigger. A flower is an expression of color, life, beauty, and many
more truth.

Human beings have more complex means of expression-human language. And
human beings express complex things, such as their feelings, thoughts,
abstract understanding, past experiences, imaginations and so on…

This advancement come together with greater capacity to observe, to
learn and to understand.This increased capacity allows human beings to
perceive the connection of all forms of expression and start wonder
the greater meaning behind everything.

This is not to be done by one individual, however intelligent that
individual is. This is to be done by generations of human society.
Human language has not only allowed us to learn from each other, but
also enable us to learn from history, from our previous
generations.This is amazing!

With that said, expression can be dangerous too. A friend of mine said
she has been trained to give speeches and put forward an argument. She
said you would learn how to convince people, even with the false fact.
This is dangerous because people would believe you even if you are
saying the wrong thing. That’s true.

We can think about media. Media is a tool of public communication. But
instead of focusing on truth, on what people really need. It is often
used with other purposes, such as selling things to people even if
they don’t really need them.

So it seems that expression is an ability or tool which can do both
good and bad. To use it well, we need moral guidance, such as:
1. pure motivation
2. peace seeking
3. justice-truth seeking
4. looking at common interets
5. respect for all human beings
