Guidance on backporting KUnit to Linux 4.18

Hi KUnit Developers,

Is there a recommended approach for backporting KUnit to the Linux 4.18 kernel (used in Rocky Linux 8.10)?

I know KUnit was merged in 5.5, and I'd like to avoid the deprecated "kunit/alpha/master" branch. Any pointers you can provide would be greatly appreciated. If this is considered infeasible due to the effort required, that information would also be very helpful so I can seek alternatives.
