You likely have already received this regarding our 3rd Saturday project but we wanted to re-send it just in case. Hope to see you there...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gentlemen,

We are going to build a wheel chair ramp for Patricia Collette this Saturday (15th) for our 3rd Saturday project.  We had a repair project in mind but Judy Tefteller gave me this project Sunday and I did a site visit; this is pretty critical so we are moving this to the front of the line.

I will pick up materials Friday afternoon and we all meet at KUMC Saturday morning 8am by gym S parking lot if you can make it.

Standard tools – drills, post hole diggers, gloves, water, etc.  I will bring what I have.

If you can’t make 8am but can come later, this is the contact info or call me.

FYI this is just north of the bridge on 494 between Porter and New Caney.  The bridge is out so you need to take 59 north to Community drive, turn right on Community and go to 494.  Turn right on 494 and directly across from the new elementary school is Keith Road.  Turn left on Keith and immediately turn right on West road.  Follow that till it makes a 90 Deg. Turn.  That is White Oak.  Follow that till it turns right 90 deg.  That is Cox.

For The Week of October 10, 2011

So another school year is starting and Fall will soon be upon us. Amongst the football and craziness there are several events that KUMC is featuring to help you connect, grow and serve. If you know of a man who might benefit from the activities here, share this e-mail with him and tell him about it along with your forward. Leave no man behind. E-mail kum...@gmail.com for information on the Feed or if you have feedback.

Going on Now...

·      Sunday Mornings - Teachers Still Needed for your Children - Men, here is a great opportunity not only to share your love and wisdom with children who need it and would respond to it, but it’s also a chance to do this with your wife. Couples can alternate weeks. Teachers are needed for 2-year-olds, Kindergarten and Fourth Grade. Contact Ellen Kent if you can help.

·      Mon. Oct. 10th - Cookies for Kairos (Again for Hightower Unit) - Monday afternoon and evening several men are gathering, along with anyone wanting to help who can’t be a part of an actual Kairos Weekend, to stuff cookies into bags to give to men in white during the weekend. This is important not only for those selected to attend as pilgrims, but also to others who may not ever get to the chance to attend because they are on death row or otherwise prohibited. Receiving cookies is an outward and visible sign that God (and people on the outside) love them and it makes a dramatic impact. Just show up at KUMC to help or call the office at 281-358-2137.

·      Oct 13-16  - Kairos Hightower Weekend - Please pray for the pilgrims and servants for this life-changing weekend. This is similar to the Walk to Emmaus but for “men in white” behind Prison walls. If you want to go and see what it’s about, consider going to the Sunday Afternoon “closing” event at each unit where it’s held. Contact KUMC at 281-358-2137 or one of the team members for Kairos. With Kairos especially, your wives can play important roles on the “outside” team so you could do this together.

·      Fri. Oct. 14th @ 6:30pm - Family Movie Night - Bring your kids and yourself to the gym for a fun night and a family-friendly movie at a price you can afford. Also, bring another family you know that might be in need of a great experience. Hope to see you there.

·      Sat. Oct. 15th @ 8:30am - The Return of 3rd Saturday Events - Men, every third Saturday from now on will have something going on that you won’t want to miss. Meet in KUMC’s parking lot to begin something special each third Saturday. Some events you can include your children for a great learning and growing experience with them. Other times, it will be something just for you. Details TBA but come out this first Saturday ready to work a little in some of God’s fellowship.

·      Sun. Oct. 16th All Morning - Celebration Sunday and Picnic - You have likely heard about KUMC’s Annual celebration of what God has so graciously given to us each Fall. It’s called “Celebration Sunday” and yes, it’s not only an opportunity to celerate how blessed we are but also to visibly commit to giving back through gifts and service and more. There will be no Sunday School and only two services at 9:40 and 11:00am. Afterward there will be a picnic lunch served in the park across from KUMC. Hope ot see you there. Contact KUMC’s office at 281-358-2137 for details.

Ongoing Events These activities are ongoing

You can join these activities at any time this Spring and Summer.

·      Tuesdays @ 6:00am - A New Quest for Tuesday Mornings - There is a war going on out there and you may or may not know it. It takes place in our lives, in our jobs, in our friendships and in our distractions and it’s called “spiritual warfare”. Men’s Fraternity is taking a break for this Fall and Spring to make room for some sessions in the same style that will teach us all how to stay in tune with God and realize all He has for us despite the world going on all around us. It’s called Quest and it’s a great way to get a new group of men together to learn and grow in true “Mens’ Fraternity” style. Contact Rev. Patrick Evans for details at 281-358-2137 or simply meet in the Fellowship Hall each Tuesday for a few weeks.

·      Wednesdays @ 5:30-9:00pm - The Table - Each Wednesday this Fall, KUMC will have a chance for you to share a meal with others as a family...including your kids from 5:30-6:30pm. Then it’s off to bible studies for adults, junior & senior high, children’s and adult choirs and children’s chimes/handbells, grace groups and more. Contact KUMC or check the web site at www.kingwoodumc.org for details or just come on over.

·      Ongoing - Bus Stop Prison Ministry Needs Men - Each weekday in Humble at the bus station, men and women who are set free from prison having served their time are dropped off to await a bus to the next stage of their lives. Now, a small but dedicated group of your friends and neighbors is gathering to meet them, give them a fresh change of clothes, buy them lunch and snacks to fill their bellies, and show them that God still loves them and wants them back in His world. Men, consider giving of your time to meet these men (women will meet with women) at the bus stop and show some of God’s love for them before they begin the next part of their journey. Help is needed on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays around lunch time. Or if you work consider donating jeans, T-shirts, new toiletries, or moneys to provide food and snacks. Contact KUMC at 281-358-2137 if you can help.

·      Fridays @ 6am - Friday AHP Moves To New Home - Due to the expansion of the School for Little Children and related ministries it was decided that AHP needs to find a new home on Friday mornings. As God would have it, one was available and we are really excited about it. So we will move beginning this date to the K Building on the northwest corner of campus. Men, bring your prayer and study group, or come be a part of ours, as we have lots of room in our new home to grow. Contact Purvis Harper for details or just show up then.

·      Sunday Morning AHP - For those who can’t make Friday mornings, a similar group meets on Sunday mornings at 7:15am in K105. They are studying “Golf’s Sacred Journey: Seven Days on the Links of Utopia”. Every second Sunday they stop down and go to the Men’s Fellowship Breakfast. Visitors are welcomed.

In The Pipeline…

·      Sun. Oct. 30th from 4-6pm - KUMC Family Ministries present: Trunk or Treat Community Event - Join us in the Society of St. Stephen parking lot across from the church and bring your decorated car, chairs and children. We’ll have costume contests, a parade and much more. All from the community are welcomed.

·      Sun. Nov. 13th @ 7:15am - Men’s Fellowship Breakfast - Starting in October, The Fellowship Breakfast will be repeating the “Quest” series on Spiritual Warfare along with some great food. The difference here is that unlike Quest, women are invited and encouraged to come. Join us Sunday mornings in the gym each second Sunday for the fellowship breakfast. Contact Andrew Sweatman or KUMC for details or just show up.

·      Starting Soon - Golf Group - Starting soon, reserve a Tuesday night once every week or two to go to Oakhurst and play a few holes of golf and talk with some other men about what God is doing in your life. Contact Paul Amos or Patrick Evans if interested or the church office at 281-358-2137.

·      January 11-15, 2012 - Men’s Deer Hunting Trip (Hunting with Hensley) - John Hensley is putting together a hunting trip to South Texas and, as he put it, God will be there along with some great fellowship time. Contact John Hensley for more details.

·      January 26-30, 2012 - KUMC Choir on a Carnival Cruise - The KUMC Sanctuary Choir, and anyone who wants to join including family and friends (men your lady would love it), are going on the ship Carnival Triumph for a four day cruise to Cozumel, Mexico. Contact Gary Showalter or Andrew Sweatman with questions or contact Lyndon at Carnival directly: 800-819-3902 x82404.

This is not a "Methodist" thing or a "Christian" thing...It's a "Man" thing for those who seek a better life with God's guidance so you are always welcome at all of our events...no excuses.
