Letters From Dad is beginning again!

 

Letters From Dad is starting again, on Monday, September 12, at 7:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall.

If you are not familiar with it, this is a program offered periodically that meets once a month, on the second Monday of each month from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.  We are seeking attendees, table leaders, and committee members to guide the series.  If you are not familiar with the program, read on.  If you have been through the program, we can use your help.  Please contact Dan Pearce or Patrick Evans (see contact info at bottom) to volunteer.  The most valuable service graduates of the program is to tell other men about it and invite them to attend Monday, September 12. 

 

The program consists of a series of videos about men giving a legacy to their families in the form of letters to their children and other relatives, with associated discussion and activities to help men develop the formats of the letters they would like to write.  We focus on communication to let our children know we love them, we are proud of them, and they have our blessings, in the tradition of the Biblical blessing of fathers for their children.  We also suggest men pass on their faith witness and values in their letters. The program includes a DVD of helpful tips by a seminary professor on letter writing and a very nice three-ring binder to keep the program material and copies of letters in.

 

Fathers of all ages, with children of any age from infancy to adulthood, fathers who already feel they communicate well with their children and families, and fathers who have difficulty communicating their feelings and values all enjoy this program and find that it helps them develop a priceless legacy for their families, as well as, in many cases, improving communication within their families.
