Hello everyone,
The Kumamoto UNESCO group is planning another upcoming cultural exchange event oriented towards foreigners in Kumamoto. This time, it will be a bus tour heading to some famous cultural spots in Arao, located in the northern part of Kumamoto Prefecture. Highlighting the tour this year is Manda Coal Mine, which was designated a World Heritage Site just last year. It will be a great opportunity to get a guided tour of some famous Kumamoto sights that you would not usually be able to see.
Date: Saturday, March 5
Location: Arao City
Audience: Study abroad students and their families, ALTs, UNESCO members, people with interest in international exchange
Cost: Adults 1000 yen/Children 800 yen (pay on the morning of the 5th)
Schedule:
8:30 - Check-in at Kencho Clock Tower
8:45 - Depart Kencho (bus will leave promptly at 8:45)
2:00 - Arrive at Matsunaga Sword Forgery, Tour and Sword Cutting Experience (about 2 hours)
6:00 - Arrive at Kencho and finish
Note: Participants are responsible for packing their own lunch. There are no places to buy lunch during the tour.
Spaces for the bus tour are limited to 35 participants. In the event that more than 35 people sign up for the tour, spaces will be selected by lottery.
If you are interested in participating on the bus tour, please e-mail me your:
