Hello,
Last year I discontinued my Jeppesen Mobile Flight Deck VFR and replaced it by ForeFlight Pro Plus + the Bottlang VFR Electronic Charts Europe.
In due time my subscription Jeppesen Mobile Flight Deck IFR/Annual Electronic Chart Services Europe JV IFR coverage comes to an end. So I have to make a decision to continue my Jeppesen subscription or to replace it by ForeFlight Pro Plus + Jeppesen Elecronic IFR charts Europe.
What are the most important differences between the Jeppesen en the ForeFlight solution/possibilities ?
Best Regards,
Sip Tol.

Step 1. Subscribe to JeppView U.S. coverage.
You may access JeppView charts on Mobile FliteDeck (the iPad app) and/or your personal computer. You'll have access to ALL charts for the coverage area you selected electronically. You can print out all of the terminal charts you like (i.e., Approach plates, STARs, SIDs Airport Diagrams). Enroute charts are too big for most personal printers, so we'll continue to send you paper revisions for no additional cost.

Step 3. Get your registration number by logging on to myjeppesen.com and navigating to "Manage Your Installs" (on the left) or by calling Customer Service at 866-498-0213. Then add JeppView Registration Number to Mobile FliteDeck.

This web-based flight planning tool assesses weather conditions, generates flight routes and files flight plans online in minutes. Plan your flight on your computer, then export your plans to your tablet for enroute access. You may also print your flight package.

CHICAGO, Aug. 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- United Continental Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: UAL) today announced that it is converting to paperless flight decks and deploying 11,000 iPads to all United and Continental pilots. The electronic flight bags (EFB) replace paper flight manuals, and as a first for major network carriers, provide pilots with paperless aeronautical navigational charts through an iPad app. Distribution of iPads began earlier this month, and all pilots will have them by year end.

"The paperless flight deck represents the next generation of flying," said Captain Fred Abbott, United's senior vice president of flight operations. "The introduction of iPads ensures our pilots have essential and real-time information at their fingertips at all times throughout the flight."

The iPads are loaded with Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck, the industry's premier app featuring interactive, data-driven enroute navigation information and worldwide geo-referenced terminal charts. The enhanced full-color, high-quality information display ensures the right information is displayed at the right time.

"We are proud to partner with United Airlines on a project of this magnitude with Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck," said Mark Van Tine, president and CEO of Jeppesen. "Jeppesen and United share a long and storied history that includes development of numerous innovations for the aviation industry. We look forward to continuing this partnership in integrating our digital mobile solutions that increase efficiency, reduce costs and optimize operations."

With iPad, pilots are able to quickly and efficiently access reference material without having to thumb through thousands of sheets of paper and reduce clutter on the flight deck. United and Continental pilots' work will be streamlined as they can immediately download updates on iPad to their electronic flight materials, rather than waiting for paper updates to be printed and distributed. In addition, by eliminating bulky flight bags loaded with paper, pilots will have less to lift and carry through airports and onboard the aircraft, reducing the risk of injury while on duty.

United Continental Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: UAL) is the holding company for both United Airlines and Continental Airlines. Together with United Express, Continental Express and Continental Connection, these airlines operate an average of 5,765 flights a day to 377 airports on six continents from their hubs in Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Guam, Houston, Los Angeles, New York/Newark Liberty, San Francisco, Tokyo and Washington, D.C. United and Continental are members of Star Alliance, which offers more than 21,200 daily flights to 1,185 airports in 185 countries. United and Continental's more than 80,000 employees reside in every U.S. state and in many countries around the world. TAG Aviation (UK) Ltd, part of TAG Aviation Europe, has announced the introduction of paperless cockpits, following UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) approval. It is the first businessaviation operator in the UK to receive authorisation from the CAA for this industry-leading step.

The company is now in the process of equipping crews across its managed fleet with iPads (Class 1 Electronic Flight Bags(EFBs)) loaded with Vistair DocuNet and Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck applications.DocuNet, a cloud-based library publication system, enables crews to download and manage TAG Aviation operational flight-deck documents using theiriPads. Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck allows crews to access aeronautical arrival and departure information for airports worldwide and can also be accessed via Class 3 EFB primary flight displays(on aircraft equipped with this capability).

The introduction of paperless technology will ensure that pilots have up-to-date, essential information at their fingertips. Flights manuals, manufacturer's documents and aeronautical flightcharts can be updated at the touch of a button instead of the time-consuming and wasteful process of manually updating hard copies, said Russ Allchorne, Vice President FlightOperations Europe, TAG Aviation (UK) Ltd. At TAG Aviation, we are committed to identifying ways to pioneer standards in flight operations and wider business aviation practices toimprove efficiency, safety and our environmental footprint.

Ian Herbert, CEO of Vistair, commented: This is a superb achievement demonstrating that TAG Aviation is both a leader and innovator in driving efficiency and value in the businessaviation sector. At Vistair we are delighted that our technology has been instrumental in assisting TAG Aviation on its journey towards paperless flight decks and we look forward tocontinuing and developing our successful relationship."

Steve Card, Director, Jeppesen Business Aviation Client Management, added: Transitioning from paper to digital flight information is a significant achievement and we fully support TAGAviation in their digital transformation. Integration of Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck reduces pilot workload, increases operational efficiency, reduces fuel consumption and lowers costs byeliminating paper materials.

In addition to a reduction in paper use and printing, TAG Aviation aims to achieve savings in fuel consumption by reducing the weight of each pilots flight bag taken onboard. On average, pilots have to carry hundreds of pages of operating manuals, navigation charts, reference handbooks, flight checklists, logbooks and weather information, which can weigh between 20 kgand 35 kg; significantly more than a 0.662-kg iPad.

TAG Aviation plans to introduce paperless cockpits throughout its worldwide managed fleet of 140 aircraft, subject to regulatory approval. In addition to its UK operation based inFarnborough, it has air operator certificates (AOCs) in Switzerland (Geneva), Spain (Madrid), the Middle East (Bahrain) and Asia (Hong Kong).

Jeppesen Sanderson, the Arapahoe County-based division of Boeing Co., said Thursday it will beef up its flight-navigation mobile app by partnering with ForeFlight, the Austin, Texas-based developer of a flight-planning app popular with individual pilots.

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 21, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Boeing (NYSE:BA) announced the launch of ForeFlight Dispatch, a team flight planning component of its web application that delivers a next-generation, multi-user, schedule-to-mobile flight planning capability for flight operations of any size.

With Dispatch, flight plans are created by pilots, dispatchers, or automatically via integrated scheduling systems to generate "cleared-as-filed" routes, briefings, and operational flight plans, which are then synchronized with the ForeFlight Mobile application on crew devices. Flight watchers or dispatchers can then monitor flights or make changes to flight plans, and all changes are automatically synced back to crew devices, resulting in a more productive flight operation.

Customers across North America and Europe have already tested the new capabilities with live flight operations in an extensive beta program. The inaugural customer of ForeFlight Dispatch, Flexjet, is a preeminent operator committed to deploying the latest technology throughout the organization.

"As one of the industry's most innovative brands, Flexjet regularly seeks to drive efficiencies in every part of our business," said Flexjet Chief Operating Officer Megan Wolf. "ForeFlight, in partnership with us, dramatically improved the flight planning process and created cutting-edge technology for both the Dispatchers and the Pilots."

"For the past year, we have beta tested the Dispatch software to our Global fleet, which operate all over the world," said Tim Montie, director of operations at Flexjet. "The efficiencies that we have realized with optimized flight plan routes, fuel burns, and passenger comfort have been outstanding. This has also allowed us to reduce the number of applications that our pilots must maintain and reduces the amount of actual paper documents that each pilot and aircraft must carry."
