Idownloaded a paint color for power armor, a free one from Creation Club in honor of Valentine's Day, and there was a crash to desktop. Ever since, I could load, but going anyplace by transition or console (it's indoors) crashes me to desktop.
I thought I'd reactivate the Unofficial patch in case it needed to integrate the new esl file. It won't install. I have tried deactivating and reactivating, I have tried uninstalling from local profile and "activate and install", I even tried outright deletion and downloading fronm the Nexus again and it will not install!
Sounds to me like whatever you downloaded and then had a CTD from is probably corrupt and you should be trying to fix that. Being unable to activate something else is likely only a side effect of a corrupt file in your Data folder.
Going to the Bethesda site and doing ANYTHING causes the game to 'update' (ie., loads unwanted and unneeded content), which makes MO's loose their mind, since they are not allowed to 'handle' Bethesda-created files in any way (other than just run them, which also includes reassigning ID's dynamically). Thus, your IDs get borked and the game won't run. Or, in other words, going to the Bethesda site breaks the seventh seal on the gates of hell, and the gremlins come pouring forth. Either way, same ending. Eternal damnation and all that.
I have no idea why the unofficial patch won't install - have you tried verifying your files on Steam? Since they've added new content (according to you), that means they've added another ID#, and if the Unofficial patch was the first non-Beth file in your load order (as its supposed to be), it could be that was the one that got bumped, and why it won't reload. The MO's just can't handle those files - they are "managed outside the mod organizer".
the fact that you can't reinstall it suggests to me that you have other problems with your game environment as a whole. the unofficial fallout 4 patch is just a mod and has no special install requirements.
whatever your problems are, they're not the fault of the unofficial patch you probably need to empty out your data folder, get steam to verify the i ntegrity of your game folders and re-install your mods again.
i would stay away from
beth.net completely because that will - without warning - mess with your load order and that action alone can wreck a game without you knowing. but i would really pay attention to the ufo4p instructions and never remove that from any game, because that's not gonna end well for you.
A comprehensive bugfixing mod for Fallout 4. The goal of the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch (aka UFO4P) is to eventually fix every bug with Fallout 4 not officially resolved by the developers to the limits of the Creation Kit and community-developed tools, in one easy-to-install package.
The following terms of use must be adhered to with regard to the unofficial patches:
* You may upload unmodified copies of the latest version of the patch to any website of your choosing so long as the documentation is retained as-is. All credits must be properly maintained, and you are responsible for making sure the updates are taken care of on the site it's uploaded to.
* Porting this mod for use on a game other than Fallout 4 is strictly prohibited. Examples of "other games" include (but are not limited to) Fallout VR, etc.
* Porting this mod to a platform where modding is not officially supported or legally allowed is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, Nintendo Switch, PS4, or other consoles.
* Translation of the unofficial patches into other languages is permitted so long as the English documentation is also included and all credits are properly maintained and all provisions of previous terms are adhered to.
* Assets such as mesh files (.nif), textures, scripts, audio files, and other things found in the BA2 files may be freely used as the basis for your own work in order to help prevent fixes from being lost due to work starting from broken vanilla assets instead.
* You are permitted to use the unofficial patches as master files in your own work for the purpose of ensuring that fixes are not lost. Please try to be sure any changes to things which have been fixed do not cause further problems as we will not be able to provide support under those conditions.
* You may also copy any needed fixes into your own work to use without the UFO4P as a master so long as you agree to be responsible for any support issues that arise from doing so and that you will actively keep up with any needed changes in future updates.
* Altering fixes is specifically prohibited as this tends to lead to serious problems. If you think you've found an issue with a fix, please report it to us. Do not simply upload something that amounts to "this is the right way to do it" because more often than not, this turns out to be false and people mistakenly believe we are at fault when we are not aware of what's been done.
* The Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch may not be included in any "mod packs" under any circumstances.
This is a re-upload of the unofficial DarNified UI Update, that was removed from the TTW Forums, where it was previously hosted. Includes restoring FO3 features DarN never got around to, an MCM Menu for customization, numerous bug fixes, and other options.
This unofficial version of DarN UI was hosted on the TTW forums until recently. By all accounts, DarN would have been okay with updates, he even says on his Oblivion Nexus page that he really just wants to be notified, which is no longer possible to do, as both the Bethesda Forums & his own site have gone down, and DarN has been missing for a long time at this point.
Older versions of DarN required you to modify [Fonts] in your INI file, this is no longer the case, though if you have a modified INI already, this version will work just fine with it as well. Just install as you would with any other mod, with your mod manager of choice.
1. Go into the folder your DarNifiedUINV.esp is in (whether the data folder, Vortex's staging folder, or MO2's mod folder)
2. Make a new txt file
3. Rename it to "DarNifiedUINV.ini"
4. Open the new INI you made and paste in the [Font] changes
I don't understand why Darn never did it himself. People have been using the ESP INI loader trick for for years, at least on Oblivion and Skyrim, with certain mods that require INI edits. There's no need to mess around with INIs directly if you've already got an ESP in most cases.
I found an issue with the "DUINVSettings.xml" file in the /menus/prefab folder.
Line 79 is " 24 " the "_swmaxHours" need to be "_sw_maxHours"
With them as they are, you won't be able to increase the Wait time as it won't recognize any of the inputs in the Wait Menu screen. I was able to edit my file to get Wait times to work, just wanted to bring it to your attention.
Thank you very much for uploading the updated version of Darnified UI, was always my favorite UI Mod for New Vegas.
FYI, if you're using a controller, there's a problem with the body parts tab in the pip-boy, all aid shotcuts don't really work well and scrolling through passive effects is still very janky, as a matter of fact it's janky as it was with the OG Darn UI.
