I tried the original mango skin a couple of times, I loved the scent! It never lasted on my skin though and in dry down it would go plasticy and artificial. I was still thinking about buying it because in the opening it is so fruity and yummy. This dupe outperforms the original! It lasts longer and fades away in the dry down rather than going off. Highly recommend!

Going to echo dcjimr's comment about the fact that Fragrantica's note breakdown is way off - MS's top notes include blackberries, mango, black pepper; middle notes are wild orris, black lotus, jasmine; base notes are patchouli, vanilla, pink sugar. When people talk about this being a sweet bomb, they mean it - the projection is great, the lasting power is decent, but while I adore the mango note in here (tangy, green), the vanilla and pink sugar base notes are STRONG. It's far more saccharine (dare I say designer-esque?) than I expected, I have to be VERY easy on the trigger here because it can get very cloying, very fast. I wanted this to be my holy grail mango scent, but sadly, I just don't think I have the sweet tooth necessary to really love this one.

I wanted to love this fragrance because I adore mango. I purchased the Vilhelm trial kit, with six of their most popular fragrances with Mango Skin as one of the samples. Unfortunately, it smelled like crayons on me. I would highly recommend getting a sample first before purchasing because you never know how it will smell on your skin. I am sure it's a perfect scent for the right person! I will say this fragrance did smell lovely on the actual spray, and it lasted a good 5-6 hours before the scent started to fade away.
