Does anybody else hate this app as much as I do? I would love to have the one I used to install on XP and Windows 7. It was so compact and complete. Seems like more and more programs are detoriating rather than getting better. Oh well.... Just venting.

My main issue, though, is that it asks me to signon anew each time I open the app. How do I get it to stop doing this? I used to be able to sign into my account once (in the app) and not have to do so subsequently. TIA.

Using Pandora since 2009. Reset system and account. Used to have a small 3x4 inch black box with album cover and song title. Now its a window and only shrinks to bigger 5 or 6 inch rectangle with 50% wasted blank space. Can I recover or get that older app thing? Using Win10 and have the new multi-colored Quick-start P. (Used to be a tiny white box with a blue P).

Outstanding idea, bring back the old, minimalist player screen. Don't try and cram all the bells and whistles into what was designed as a simple station player with minimal screen presence. Stick with the KISS principle of design. Make the old PandoraOne app a user installation choice. The new desktop app doesn't do much more than the web page and a shortcut could do.

Good morning, because there are many of us who have expressed a return of the desktop player I wanted to ask everyone a question. If it was available as an option for a small added fee would any of you opt to take advantage of that? I would because the player was the way I found new music and new artists. I never open the page that is available now. I always just go to Pandora on my iPhone and go to my collection. I never usually explore unless there is an artist I have heard on Instagram. Lets start a discussion on this if any or would opt to pay more to have the desktop player. I have decided that I would, but not more than $5. Thanks, Ollie

It sounds like you're referring to the Pandora One Desktop application that was available in the past. We no longer support that compact desktop player. However, we now have a Pandora Desktop app for MAC and Windows computers.

What happened to the old Pandora one desktop app? This new one that you have to download from the window store S U C K S. The whole point of a desktop app was to use less memory then having it play in your web browser. All this new app is, is a smaller web browser window that still takes 200+ mb . Thank god I was able to find my old desk stop app that only takes 53mb. This is new update is dumb, bring back the old player!

Had a little snafu the other day and after a bunch of attempts i relented and reinstalled windows keeping the old files. Fixed the snafu, i have sound again, but i lost my old Pandora One app, the one that was built on Adobe Air. I know there is the win store version but its huge (for no reason) and blue... So far i haven't managed to find it on the internet anymore. Anyone got a link to the good old stuff?

I understand how loved the compact desktop player was but it's no longer available. Feel free to check out the accepted solution if you're interested in installing our newer desktop app.

Found an old install on a old computer of mine, copied the entire folder as is and it just works. Gonna have to store the whole thing on google drive or something to future proof this same thing ever happening again. Probably need to put adobe air install with it just in case that also becomes impossible to find.

as a free user its very important that you the company understand that i can easily just open another tab and use youtube, for music... however i enjoy your system. having said that your window is so bright even with my monitors brightness turned completely down..

Okay Pandora devs, I get you're trying to be innovative. I love that, pandora is the best, no matter what my Spotify friends say, but there are small tweaks to make it even better. Idea: Enable dark mode from the settings page for your account. I listen to music at night with my MacBook laptop. On safari I have my computer on dark mode, yet pandora is still allllll white. What I suggest instead of like on IOS its automatic, make it so no matter what device you're on you can change from dark to light with a button. This has been kinda annoying but a simple fix. Thanks for the time!

The fact that we are being pointed to an "upvote to be processed" situation is insane. A lot of people would prefer a black background; literally anyone with floaters in their eye. Please get this done. I guarantee it's a bigger problem than anyone accepts. Floaters... like everyone has them.

I am searching for a solution to the same problem in finding this conversation, however, I KNOW IT USED TO WORK in dark mode. I haven't tried to use Pandora on a computer in a couple years or more, and it is a shame this can't be enabled by now, if it used to work. I wasted some time switching browsers and applying extensions, and it seemed that one worked for a short time but then it didn't work anymore. If I weren't so attached to Pandora since I began using it back in 2008 or so, I would say goodbye over this and only use my subscriptions that allow dark mode. Now the settings are so screwed up I have to highlight the page in order to see the album notes below the pictures to see what the album name + artist is.

I've noticed latley when I use the pandora application from the windows store on my laptop, the fans got louder. I checked the task manager and Pandora uses around 500MB of memory, and it's power usage trend says very high. It even says it uses 5% of GPU. Why would pandora need to use my GPU? It uses more resources than chrome. Is this normal?

Thanks for your reply. I tried the above steps, along with clearing the cache, but am still facing the same issue. As I type this, my Pandora CPU usage is fluctuating between 2.6%-4.7% while minimized and 11%-16% when open. There were some spikes up to the mid 20% range when open. RAM usage is stable around 345 MB. GPU usage is around 7.2% when open and 0 when minimized. It actually seems to be slightly worse following the reinstallation.

Thanks for the response. I closed the app, restarted it, and reset the app data as requested. I then logged back into my account. CPU usage is now trending closer to 10-13% now, but I assume that may be trace related.

On old computer had a desktop program to run Pandora. Now have newer (but still old) computer that is running Windows 7 and would like to put the program on it but can't find it. All articles I find only reference an app that runs on Windows 8 or 10, nothing earlier.

Downloading any app from the Windows Store will require that you have a Microsoft account and password. The email address and password for your Microsoft account may be different than those on your Pandora account.

I faced a similar issue with a company-provided device where I was limited in what I could install (hint: it didn't include Pandora). So instead, I set Pandora as the home page for one of the browsers I wasn't regularly using (in my case this was Edge, but you could use Firefox, Chrome, Opera, etc.). So now when I want to listen to Pandora, I simply start the Edge browser and I'm golden. I don't use Edge for anything but Pandora, and I continue doing all my regular browsing in my default browser (Chrome). It gives me the feel of a dedicated app without having access to the actual Pandora app.

A stand-alone Windows program would be much prefered. Many do not like Windows 10 due to it's intrusiveness and giant leap backwards in user privacy. Same with the Windows store. People, like me, don't have a Microsoft account. We stayed off the internet when turning on our devices to avoid having to create one.

OMG thank you. I've had this app for about 10 years now and just did a windows reinstall without knowing that they've essentially discontinued it. The official Win10 version may have more features, but I love the compact size and look of this one WAY better.

There is one out there designed for Windows Vista, that runs as a Desktop Gadget. Its wonderful, but unsupported because it is Ad Free, Ut does require you to poke it once an hour or it stops playing.

Bad news though, it runs off Flash. I finally got tired of the uninstall notices popping up and removed flash player last night, and today my Pandora Gadget stopped working, telling me it needs Flash. I still cant find any way to reinstall it.

As a gadget, Pandora will never be interrupted by browser mishaps again. It will run in a small window (approx. 130 x 300 pixels) directly on your desktop. The gadget retains nearly all the same functionality of the web app, and I find that its minimalistic approach is immensely efficient.

6. You can confirm that the shortcut is in the correct location from your Start Menu. Click the Windows 7 Start Menu Orb and then Select All Programs > Startup, the new shortcut should be there.

Yup its Adobe not Microsoft thats responsible for 64bit flash gadgets not working. Anyways now that Adobe has released a beta version of 64bit flash, u should have no problem using the default 64bit Windows sidebar.

For whichever reason.. I am not able to create a new shortcut when I right click in the folder, I am only able to create a new folder. I have full administrator rights. What could be the problem here? Thanks

Downloaded gadgaet and installed it on a 64 bit system with no problems at this time but it is great to be able to listen to pandora with out opening a browser. Now if it can have a icon to load it again.

Easy to follow except there are no backspaces (in the running in 32bit mode section) which might confuse a few readers out there. I do like that the gadget has its own sound mixer so I can lower that and higher my programs (games) while I work (game).
