Hey guys im having a problem opening folders I have downloaded from dropbox. I have since deleted it from dropbox (so cant try reloading the files). I have tried opening it 3 on different computers and im getting the same message. I tried using both windows 7 and windows 8.1
How big is this Zip file? Dropbox is known to have problems creating Zip files larger than 1GB or so. If you're using the built-in Zip support that Windows has, I would try a program like WinRAR, 7Zip or WinZip. Otherwise you may be out of luck.
Same here. Only, my compressed folders are from 1 to 116 MB. Not very large... I can't open any of the files when extracted, all broken. Pictures, txt files, pdf files, html files, mp3 files, nothing opens...
A strange thing happed to me... I've kept the broken zip archives - and they all work now, four weeks later. I changed my OS in the meantime (Mint to Ubuntu) but I don't know if that made any difference... I tried extracting one file at a time and all at once and it works, no problems whatsoever. Maybe you should try extracting one file at a time from the broken archive or something like that, or change the OS xD
Thanks so much for this answer. It worked for me and i have recovered hundreds of photos from my travels. If you are ever in nz let me know and i will buy you a beer!
Big shout out to mactorque who sorted it for me since i can hardly even turn a Mac on!
Its crazy that dropbox was not able to help with this issue.
Before you posted this I managed to get in touch with dropbox customer support which took a bit of hunting! However they repeatedly told me the fault was my doing, didn't believe what was happening to me and offered no solution!
Thanks so much!
Compressed (e.g., archived or zipped) files may contain manyseparate files in one large archive, which often takes up less spacethan the original files. Before you can read or run all the separatefiles and programs, you must use an archiving program to extract thefiles from the archive. In Windows, you can compress (zip) anddecompress (unzip) files without installing any third-partyprograms.
Note: The new .zip file will have thesame name as the file or folder you compressed. If you compressmultiple items, the file name will be the same as the file youright-clicked to start the compression.
For zipping and unzipping most files, the built-in Windows utilitywill suffice; however, if you encounter a compressed format notsupported by the built-in Windows tools, you can try one of thefollowing programs:
I am trying to unzip a file and put the unzipped file in a particular directory. I am using 7-zip in windows and I have been succesful in using this command by using the Windows command line tool (cmd.exe).
I would very much appreciate if someone knows how to do this and could publish a solution to this problem. If possible I just wnat to use the 'Run Command'-tool and only use the configuration options that comes with it.
@aroos I'm attaching a working example, but i think the only thing that would need to change on your picture is you would need to either have some output or some input. I've setup my example where I attached a text input and write it to a dummy temp file:
Thanks for the reply. I didn't know there was a zip-option to the input tool, which is great. It doesn't seem to be enough in my particular case since i need to do some file processing that is quite dynamic and I think I need the Run Command tool in conjunction with the Directory Tool to accomplish this task.
I release my program to my customer
But it is deleted from some computers while unzip
I guess it's because of Windows Defender's real-time protection.
We use Administrator rights so Windows Defender's real-time protection detects our program as virus
We already has code sign and I excluded it at window defender and it was solved
Could you tell us what is the name of the malware and the notification from the Microsoft Defender?
In case your file is really safe but incorrectly being detected as a malware, you may report it to the Microsoft Anti-Malware team. Take a look at -us/wdsi/filesubmission .
As a workaround, you may ask users to add them to the exception list.
Updated files have been provided for EPI SuiteTM. Multiple downloads are required for successful installation. ALL files must be downloaded, in order, from the links below. Please follow directions to successfully download and install all files.
The file is a self executing(exe) zip file. If you do not have unzip software in your computer, you may not successfully install EPI v4.11. By downloading this software, you agree to the Terms and Conditions of Use. To install, complete the instructions below:
After successful installation of this file, download and install EPI Suite updated files 2017.zip (zip) (18.2 MB) . The files in the zip file are NOT a complete installation of the EPI SuiteTM. To function correctly, they require files from the already installed version of the EPI SuiteTM v4.11 (November 2012), provided above. The newer 38 files from the zip file must over-write the older files from the already installed version.
The zip file contains 40 individual files. Of the 40 files, 38 files are used to over-write existing files with the same name in the previous EPI SuiteTM installation (November 2012). Two new data files, provided as excel spreadsheet files, are included that relate to updates of the BIOWIN Program and updates to programs involving organosilicon compounds.
The default installation folder of this installation is: C:\EPISUITE41\. The files that need to be over-written by this June 2017 Update are included in this installation folder. If the EPI SuiteTM v4.11 (November 2012) was installed in a different folder, then the files in that different folder need to be over-written.
If your computer uses the Windows 10 Operating System or higher and you are experiencing any technical difficulties while running this program, you should complete the following steps after downloading EPI SuiteTM:
3. As you can see here, CMD has successfully unzipped the ZIP file in the same location.Extract ZIP Files in Windows 11 With CMD, 7-Zip, File Explorer and PowerShellSo these four methods can extract ZIP files for you. Not only that, with 7-Zip, you can extract RAR, 7Z, TAR, TGZ and many more compressed file formats. And if you are a command-line nerd, you can have TAR at your disposal on Command Prompt. Our website has many large files available in zipped or compressed format. The result is a smaller file that downloads faster. If you haven't used zipped files before, or are having trouble working with them, this tutorial is to help you.
Zipped files (known by many names, see the table to the right, but in this document called "zipped files") are one or more files on a computer disk that have been combined into a single file in a space-efficient manner to reduce their total file size. This is very useful when disk space is limited or when people download files. Since multiple files can be stored in a zipped file, a single file can be downloaded then unzipped to easily download many files at once. You can think of a zipped file as a set of books on a shelf:
In order to work with zipped files, they must be unzipped or extracted first. Windows has a built in program called Windows Compressed Folders which can do this for you. If you have installed a zip program, such as WinZip* or 7-Zip*, Windows Compressed Folders may not be easily available on your computer. If you follow the instructions below for Windows Compressed Folders, but a different program opens, you can still follow the instructions listed, and it should generally still work.
Other software programs exist for zipping and unzipping files. Two popular programs are WinZip * and 7-Zip *. Both of these allow you to unzip and zip with two clicks:
Here, I have right-clicked on the zipped file and selected "Extract to here." "Extract" is the same thing as "unzip." Windows also sometimes places "Extract files" links in toolbars which may be useful to you. Windows generally opens a wizard to ask where you want the files extracted. The location of the "extract files" tool varies depending on how Windows Explorer is set up and what version of Windows you are using.
As of version 1.9.4, gretl requires Windows XP or higher and a processor that supports theSSE2 instruction set. SSE2 support is found in all modern processors; it is absent in AMD CPUsprior to the Athlon 64, and in Intel CPUs prior to the Pentium 4. For versions of gretl thatwill run on older systems, see below.
If you have no administrator rights on Windows you should use a zip file;unzip this in any location where you have writepermission. Note: you must preserve the internal directorystructure of the archive or gretl will not work. In unzipping programsthis option may be called "enable folders". The whole archive is in adirectory calledgretl. For example, if you unzip the archive into a directory namedc:\userdata, the gretl GUI program will be atc:\userdata\gretl\gretl.exe.
The current "snapshot" of gretl is more up to date than the release: often it will contain bug-fixes but sometimes it will contain newly introduced bugs. To see what'snew in the snapshot, take a look at the Change log(the "in progress" entry).
