In the 'Configure KMix' > 'Settings' dialog I see an option that says 'Restore
Volume on Login'. Un check this and then Right Click on the KMix icon in the
System Tray Applet and choose Quit

Else i guess you caan also remove the KMix applet from the System Tray applet,
This may stop the KMix app to load during the start as well.

I suspect this will not load the KMix applet again during a session start and
yes these are just suggestions to try, you can however always search the web
for more ways.
