Request to join the Kubevirt Github organization

You can create a PR to add yourself as a member to the kubevirt org here:
https://github.com/kubevirt/project-infra/blob/master/github/ci/prow-deploy/files/orgs.yaml

Right. And you are most welcome to KubeVirt, Anton.
However, the fact that somebody in Red Hat asked you to join the org
is not enough. KubeVirt is an open source project with its own
community. We have here [1] a proposal for the orderly process of how
to become a member. It has not been ratified yet (I think it should!)
but according to its spirit, you would have to first have a few
contributions, explain why you should become a member and provide a
sponsor or two.

Welcome to KubeVirt.  If there's anything I can do for you as a community organizer please don't hesitate to get ping me.

We do some due diligence on members to ensure they are active long term and our membership doesn't balloon up just to have folks ghost us.  I believe the technical aspect of non-membership is pull reqs need to have a member pre review then remove the "needs-ok-to-test" label to trigger CI jobs.  This adds some time to getting a pull req merged.  Right, dhiller?  Aside the label/CI piece the community welcomes contributions from everyone XXL and S alike.  :)

The requirements for membership are detailed here.  The new doc is 98% baked and ready for merge.  I have to check with one more person to make sure there aren't any serious issues.  I'm hoping to have it in by Friday.
