Hey all,
I just wanted to clarify that reasoning similar to "I just need an extra week" does not constitute justification for granting an exception.
A good reason for asking for an exception could be, for example, that the PR was thoroughly reviewed, but difficult questions were raised and discovered just before the deadline.
The deadline needs to be respected. In previous cycles we reached a situation where so many VEPs requested an exception that the deadline was effectively pushed back. This shortens the implementation phase, which results in more exception requests.
Looking at the
schedule for v1.10, the design phase was almost 2 months, which should be more than enough. If people need more time, they're more than welcome to submit VEPs in the previous cycle and seek early reviews.
All exception requests lacking sufficient justification will be categorically denied.
Thanks for understanding.
Itamar.
