KubeVirt 1.8 Release

Hi everyone!

The KubeVirt Team is happy to announce the availability of KubeVirt v1.8.0!

The release is primarily intended for Kubernetes 1.35 and it is being tested against the latest 3 Kubernetes versions as well (1.33 & 1.34).

As with the previous release, the release is following the ternary release schedule and will be supported for the same period of time as Kubernetes will support version 1.35. 

This is the third release since we started our VEP (KubeVirt Enhancement Proposal)  process and, after some shaky starts and concerted iterating, we are really starting to see it settle and find a rhythm in the community. We have had a real boom in proposals for this release, and that trend is likely to continue. Let me thank all of you for following the process, providing feedback and contributing amazing ideas.

The schedule of new release is available at https://github.com/kubevirt/sig-release/blob/main/releases/v1.9/schedule.md. Please note it is likely to change slightly as we implement improvements to the release process.
