Hello,
According to GKE release notes, the live-restore feature is going to be enabled by default:
https://cloud.google.com/kubernetes-engine/release-notes
Three features in Docker v1.13.1 are disabled by default in the COS m60 image, but are planned to be enabled in a later node image release: live-restore, shared PID namespaces and overlay2.

I would like to know when this feature is planned to be release on GKE (and COS image).
Thanks,
Liron

Liron,

Overlay2 is enabled for GKE 1.9 and above, and live-restore is enabled for GKE 1.10 and above. Shared PID namespace is still alpha feature, and we recently changed K8S API for the feature (https://github.com/kubernetes/kubernetes/pull/58716) for 1.10 release. Alpha feature is disabled by default for GKE, but we do plan to promote the feature to beta soon.

Thanks,

Dawn
