Cannot use helm on minikube cluster. Not sure what's wrong. I use minikube without VM driver as I need to avoid nested virtualization. Minikube is installed, kubectl is working, helm is not.

ENV

Minikube version : v0.26.1
Docker version: 18.03.0-ce
OS : CentOS Linux 7 (Core)
VM Driver : none
kubectl version: v1.10.0
helm version: v2.8.2

helm ls throws an error

Error: Get https://10.96.0.1:443/api/v1/namespaces/kube-system/configmaps?labelSelector=OWNER%3DTILLER: dial tcp 10.96.0.1:443: getsockopt: no route to host

kubectl output

kubectl get po -n kube-system
NAME READY STATUS RESTARTS AGE
etcd-minikube 1/1 Running 0 2h
kube-addon-manager-minikube 1/1 Running 0 2h
kube-apiserver-minikube 1/1 Running 0 2h
kube-controller-manager-minikube 1/1 Running 0 2h

kube-scheduler-minikube 1/1 Running 0 2h

storage-provisioner 1/1 Running 0 2h
tiller-deploy-df4fdf55d-5hxbp 1/1 Running 0 2h

Steps to reproduce

minikube start --vm-driver=none
after all pods are running
helm init
helm ls - throws an error listed above
checking with kubectl
try kubectl get po -n kube-system - all pods are created and running, OK.
Not sure what is wrong with helm.
