Thank you for the notification Josh!

There is an e2e test that we run in clusters with Windows nodes that currently requires a windows build of etcd.
[sig-api-machinery] Aggregator Should be able to support the 1.17 Sample API Server using the current Aggregator [Conformance]

We also recently merged support to build Windows etcd container images in kubernetes/kubernetes to support the above test case.
https://github.com/kubernetes/kubernetes/pull/92433

It sounds like the etcd project would be open to re-adding support for a windows flavor of etcd - provided it is more maintainable than the old solution.
I'll see if we can anyone from SIG-Windows to help work on this.

Thanks,
--Mark

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Etcd terminates Windows builds

All,

The Etcd project has been unable to recruit new contributors to work on maintaining windows builds of Etcd:

As such, Etcd will no longer be distributing Windows build scripts, which had stopped working already in any case. I'm pretty sure we use these for testing, and may count on them in other areas. '

What is this going to break for us? Is there anything we can do about it?
