If you don't  use: persistentVolumeReclaimPolicy: Recycle
you can stop reading now.

Currently, the persistent volume specification has an option to recycle a volume, essentially performing “rm -rf /thevolume/*” on the user's volume. This method has proven to be error prone and ineffective in all situations thus leaving the possibility of exposing the previous user's data to the new user of the PV. Dynamic provisioning of volumes with the ability to delete the volume, provide a more robust solution to quick allocation of new volumes while eliminating the risk of inadvertently exposing user data.  If you are using this feature we would like your feedback to this simple survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScdGzEtIJ0f9oPjOz2aZ4qReRGq4XfsYJhCfRMlEnFmyCKXdg/viewform
