After discussing with SIG Storage
(https://kubernetes.slack.com/archives/C09QZFCE5/p1615483994022300)
and considering the fact that the implementation PR has been reviewed
already and has API approvals as well, we are APPROVING this
exception.
I will shortly add the PR to the v1.21 milestone.
