Kubernetes v1.31 State of the Release and Important Deadlines

Hello hello hello Kubernetes community!
TL;DR: v1.31.0-rc.0 is coming early next week. Several important deadlines are coming up, please make sure your docs are ready!
We are now about 3 weeks away from the v1.31 release! Here's what's going on!
Upcoming important milestones (schedule):
Docs Freeze - Tuesday, 30 July
Test Freeze - Wednesday, 31 July
v1.31.0-rc.0 released - Tuesday, 30 July
Major Themes Complete - Tuesday, 6 August
v1.31.0-rc.1 released - Tuesday, 6 August
v1.31.0 released - Tuesday, 13 August
Enhancements
We are currently tracking 42 enhancements post-Code Freeze. So far, we have received 10 code freeze exception requests, 9 of which were approved and 1 denied.
Blogs
We are currently tracking 13 feature blogs to be published post-release.
Documentation
Continuing the practice that started with the v1.30 release, the PR Ready to Merge deadline for Documentation has been replaced with a Docs Freeze. The Docs Freeze deadline is Tuesday, 30 July. Please make sure your docs are ready and have been reviewed by then!
Exception requests will be required for enhancements that miss this deadline.
Major Themes
Each release, we choose high impact features to be major themes. The enhancements that have been nominated by SIG Leads and technical chairs to be major themes can be seen on the discussion on GitHub.
The deadline for completing the Major Themes of the release is Tuesday, August 6.
