Sergey,

Thanks for following up on the discussion from the Github issue and Slack (https://kubernetes.slack.com/archives/C2C40FMNF/p1605213631370500) opening this. To restate the situation here, the feature / graduation PR was merged, but it did not introduce required tests that could then be promoted to conformance. We will need to do that prior to the test freeze.  This PR adds the tests, so a follow up to add to conformance will be needed after some soak time.

With this background, this exception request is APPROVED. Please get this test merged as soon as possible so that we can then work to promote it to conformance.

Thank you,

Jeremy Rickard // 1.20 Release Lead.

Hi,

With the RuntimeClass GA the corresponding API conformance tests were not created and promoted to the conformance list. This is a request for an exception to add these tests now.

  • Enhancement name: RuntimeClass
  • Enhancement status (alpha/beta/stable): stable
  • SIG: node
  • k/enhancements repo issue #: 585
  • PR #’s: 96551
  • Additional time needed (in days): a week.Pr with the test is ready, need time to promote to conformance
  • Reason this enhancement is critical for this milestone: RuntimeClass is widely used and was planned to be GA'd for some time now.
  • Risks from adding code late: (to k8s stability, testing, etc.) little risk, only tests are missing.
  • Risks from cutting enhancement: (partial implementation, critical customer usecase, etc.) low risk

/Sergey
