Reason this enhancement is critical for this milestone: This feature has been in discussions since Feb 2020. The more we delay this feature, it becomes difficult to support new features being added in every release. Plus, It is important to unblock AI/ML use cases since these workloads have highly variable resource demands in different stages.

Risks from adding code late: (to k8s stability, testing, etc.) Low as the feature has conditional logic, and is an alpha feature behind a feature gate. All the required e2e tests are passing. New ones have been added to test the feature end-to-end.

Risks from cutting enhancement: (partial implementation, critical customer usecase, etc.) This feature opens up usecases  AI/ML workloads (such as Dynamic Containers), further delays in making this feature available will slow down the ability to effectively support this rapidly evolving AI/Ml workloads.
