Gateway API maintainership update

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share that I will be stepping down from my role as a maintainer of the Gateway API, effective today, September 9.

Being part of this project has been a truly rewarding experience, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such a talented and dedicated community. In particular, I’d like to thank Shane, Rob, and Nick for their support, collaboration, and leadership—it has been a privilege to learn from and work with you.

This was not an easy decision, but I’ve realized that I can no longer commit the time and attention needed to contribute at the level this project deserves.

I’ll still be cheering for the project from the sidelines and look forward to seeing its continued success.

for the project!

Making this tough call for the health of the project recognizing you
don't have the necessary bandwidth and stepping down is a great
example of leadership and integrity.

It's been great working with you Mattia! You've been a key part of Gateway API for years now, I really appreciate all you did to drive conformance forward for us in particular.
