Gateway API Maintainership Updates

Hello Gateway API community,

We're thrilled with the growth and success of the Gateway API project since going GA at the end of last year! 🙌 A big thank you to everyone contributing to its achievements.

As the project expands, we recognize the need for additional support. We have agreed in recent months that it would be really helpful to add an extra maintainer slot to help us support contributors and shepherd features.

In the past couple years, we introduced an official contributor ladder, acknowledging contributors' efforts and paving the way for maintainership. Today, we're delighted to nominate distinguished contributor and community advocate Mattia Lavacca as a Gateway API maintainer! 🎉 Mattia has made excellent contributions to the project over the last few years, and has also been an active advocate for Gateway API in Kubecon talks and elsewhere. We're very happy for his interest, and looking forward to the project being able to benefit further from his work and input.

As is customary we'll provide a week or so for feedback. Please feel free to share your support for Mattia here, or reach out to Rob, Nick and myself directly on Slack if you have any questions or concerns.
