SIG Leads, please make sure you forward this to the Working Group, Subproject, and User Group chairs.
Leaders of CNCF Projects and Activities can host an Intro and/or Deep Dive session during Cloud Native + Open Source Virtual Summit China, July 30–August 1, within the “Maintainer Track.” This is one of the best opportunities of the year to add new users and contributors. We’ve also heard consistent feedback that these sessions are some of the best parts of the events. Please see the details below and fill out the form no later than Sunday, May 31.
Requirement: In order to participate in the Maintainer Track, you must lead a CNCF Graduated/Incubating or Sandbox Project, a CNCF SIG or Working Group, or a Kubernetes SIG, Working Group, User Group, or Subproject.
An Intro is a session focused on introducing new or casual end users or contributors to your activity. The beginning of the Intro should include some slides and a demo to explain what your activity does and why people should care. It is encouraged to leave time for questions/answers or an interactive session.
A Deep Dive is for contributors, maintainers and other attendees with some pre-existing familiarity with the activity. Although the agenda is up to you to organize, we recommend that these should be working sessions focusing on technical discussions and debates, as opposed to just processes (e.g., should the API be changed, not what's the best time for monthly conference calls).
Intros and Deep Dives will be available as 30-minute sessions and held on July 30, July 31, and August 1. Sessions will be assigned based on schedule availability and we will attempt not to overlap your Intro and Deep Dive with talks on the same subject. If you choose both, we’ll schedule the Intro first so that interested Intro attendees can go to the Deep Dive.
Please note: All presenters will be required to present live via Zoom during China Standard Time, 09:30–19:00, with a break from 12:40–15:30.
Maintainer Track sessions will be available to all conference attendees. You may have a maximum of two speakers per intro/deep dive session. Each speaker will be provided complimentary registration to the conference.
