  • Enhancement name: Avoid updating Services with stale specs
  • Enhancement status (alpha/beta/stable): stable
  • SIG: cloud-provider
  • k/enhancements repo issue #: https://github.com/kubernetes/enhancements/issues/3259
  • PR #’s: https://github.com/kubernetes/kubernetes/pull/107631
  • Additional time needed (in days):None. It is a small change and got LGTM already
  • Reason this enhancement is critical for this milestone: It fixes a bug that Services may be updated with stale specs.
  • Risks from adding code late: (to k8s stability, testing, etc.) Minimal
  • Risks from cutting enhancement: (partial implementation, critical customer usecase, etc.) Minimal

Zhecheng Li

Hi Zhecheng,

Thank you for your email, and for reaching out to us.

We've discussed this in Slack. We don't believe that this change will require the exceptions process, as it's a bug fix and not an enhancement.

Thanks,
James Laverack
