Working Group Node Identity proposal

hey all,

on the heels of a successful panel about static tokens and attestation[0], an effort is forming to explore starting a working group around node identity. a charter has been drafted[1] and the group is now asking several sigs to determine participation and if this effort is worth creating a working group.

as there might be some parts of node identity that deal with cloud provider specific APIs and code, i suggested that sig cloud provider might be interested in the new working group, if not a sponsor. so, in that spirit i am sharing the document here for further discussion and i will bring this up at the next sig cloud provider meeting.

Really important topic, just a suggestion, since it touches multiple SIGs , will it be worth it to also announce it in the d...@kubernetes.io for reaching a wider audience?

yes, great idea. i was mostly sending this to represent sig cloud provider, but it sounds like there is an email being drafted for wider audience.
