Attention Kuberenetes SIG Architecture!
Following the meeting and previous discussions, as well as a post by Bentheelder in Slack, it has been decided to donate and migrate the APISnoop project and the CNCF-CI bot to the Kubernetes community. This will allow for greater collaboration and support within the community, further improving these valuable tools.
The repos https://github.com/cncf/apisnoop and https://github.com/cncf-infra/verify-conformance would be moved to the https://github.com/kubernetes/ organization the related Prow jobs deployed on kubernetes-aws resources.
In addition to the above, it was also discussed during the meeting that there is a need to revisit the deployment of a release informing job. This job will detect new endpoints going to GA without conformance tests, as well as monitor for changes that may have broken conformance tests. By implementing this job, we can ensure the continued conformance and reliability of the system.
Further there are currently, are no pre-release checks in place that detect Sonobuoy issues prior to a release. These issues are currently detected reactively by the ii team. To improve the reliability of the system, it has been decided to deploy a job that will proactively monitor for Sonobuoy issues ahead of a release. This will help to prevent any potential issues from occurring and ensure a smooth release process.
There seems to be a general consensus on the proposed change. If no objections are raised, the plan is to begin implementing this change as early as the beginning of June 2023.
Regards,
Hippie Hacker.
