Dear Kubernetes Community,
Due to some technical problems and Release Manager personnel availability, we had to delay some of Kubernetes August patch releases. The current status is as follows:
v1.28.1: release is currently in progress and is expected in the next 6-8 hours
v1.27.5, v1.26.8, v1.25.12, v1.24.17:
Binary artifacts, container images, and changelogs are available and ready to be used
System (debian and rpm) packages are available in the Kubernetes-community hosted repositories[1], but are yet to be pushed to the Google-hosted repository (ETA is noon Pacific Time)
Official announcements to mailing lists will be made once packages are pushed to the Google-hosted repository
We want to apologize for any inconvenience caused by this delay especially given that these releases include fixes for CVE-2023-3676[2] and CVE-2023-3955[3]. If you have any questions, please reach out to us via the #release-management channel[4] on Slack.
Marko Mudrinić,
On behalf of Kubernetes Release Managers
