[ANNOUNCE] Kubeflow Subproject Seats Open on the Kubeflow Distribution Committee

Hi Kubeflow Community,

With the Kubeflow Distribution Committee (KDC) charter now updated, every Graduated Kubeflow Subproject gets one seat on the KDC, appointed by the Kubeflow Steering Committee (KSC) for a one-year term.

All six seats are currently open: Hub, Katib, Notebooks, Pipelines, Spark Operator, and Trainer.

We ask each subproject to appoint a representative by Friday, August 14th.

What subproject representatives do

• Represent their subproject in decisions on the Kubeflow Community Distribution (KCD), including which projects are bundled and what requirements they must meet
• Help shape requirements for Kubeflow Subproject portability, packaging, and the Kubeflow Conformant mark

Together, subproject representatives hold 30% of the vote on general KDC decisions and 50% on KCD decisions.

How appointment works

• The representative is nominated by the chairs of the Working Group that owns the subproject
• Nominees must be a member of the Kubeflow GitHub organization
