Hi Cultural India Club!

My name is Danny Sanchez and I am on the Entertainment Committee for KU Dance Marathon 2012.5. The Entertainment Committee's main goal is to make sure that the children and dancers who attend Dance Marathon have a fun time and stay active throughout the event.

Dance Marathon is a national organization that helps raise funds for nearly 17 million children via Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. In particular, the University of Kansas' Dance Marathon raises funds specifically for KU Medical Center Pediatrics.

We had a very successful marathon this past February 4th. We raised $60,040.70, an all time record for us! Now the even better news is that our marathon is moving dates this year. We are shifting to have our marathon in the fall, which means we have just 8 short months to plan another marathon! Our 2012.5 KU Dance Marathon is scheduled for Saturday, November 10th, 2012.

While fundraising is year long, on November 10th, 2012 from 10 am. to 10 p.m. we will our main event called "KU Dance Marathon" in the Kansas Union for students to come spend time with the children and their families from KU Pediatrics, play games, participate in contests, etc. We will remain active and on our feet for 12 hours straight for the kids that aren't able to stand up there for themselves.
