Dear all,

I am planning on visiting Jumla as part of a small project but I have limited time to do so.   I know that I can either fly or take the Karnali highway.

(1) The flights are safer, quicker, more expensive but are not reliable as they only go when they want to go.   The cost appears to have doubled in 6 months and the schedule is not fixed!
(2) The Karnali Highway bus route is cheaper,  takes more time and seems unsafe due to the nature of the road and the nature of the vehicles plying the route.
(3) Hired Jeep -I don't know whether a jeep can be hired but I imagine i would be cheaper than a flight (5 people are going)  and the second quickest way to get to Jumla from Kathmandu.

There will be 5 of us and we want to go for 4 days.   Planning to go on April 1st.   Any advice on getting to Jumla (and back) would be greatly received!!!!

Best wishes,

Ian

Dear all,

I would just like to thank every one who replied to this message!  So many helpful people out there!!! THANK YOU!

We have decided to go by hired jeep as I have been informed that Tara Air's plane is in Kathmandu during the period that I am in Nepal!
