During 3 days, the Alliance Française of Kathmandu will welcome the Planet Nepal 2.1 festival. Planet Nepal is a multi-disciplinary arts and environment festival which is held every two years. Its second edition in 2012 has achieved an important sensitization work among young people on issues related to the environment, which has been followed this year thanks to “The Small Earth Nepal” association in 10 schools of the Kathmandu valley. As a matter of fact, Planet Nepal 2.1 is a smaller edition of Planet Nepal 2012 to mark the continuity of actions done by France in Nepal.

The main purpose of this year is to make people realize, learn and aware of different aspects of water issues which become now ubiquitous and are not solely the responsibility of scientists. Consequently, the festival is mainly held to make the connection around the common theme of water between the world of business, the arts community and the scientific sphere from two countries, France and Nepal.

For this event, it will be proposed from the 11th to the 13th of September, some screenings about the main theme with the explanations of famous speakers like Serge Verliat or Jean Philippe. Besides, you are all invited to the Water fair which is an outside event where 10 non-governmental organizations will be presents to propose you some interactive activities around the water issues. Most of all, the last day you will have the opportunity to discover an original contemporary dance performance choreographed by Brigitte Chataignier which will be executed in the Russian cultural center. Except the dance performance, all the events will be proposed to you in the Alliance Française.
September 11th at 3pm and 12th at 4pm, screenings and knowledge sharing seminar
September 13th, 11am to 3pm, Water fair and at 6pm the dance performance.
